| C Bennison | Joseph Cyril Bennison or Cyril Bennison as he is found in some military sources or Joseph in the 1901 census. In that census he is living with his parents, William, a gamekeeper and Mary and his 7 siblings at The Delves ? Cyril was born in Egton in 1895 but by the time of his enlistment in Whitby, he was living in Grosmont. He joined the Royal Scots as 16405 but later (after 1916) was transferred to the MGC as 17459. He was KIA on 1 October 1918 aged 23 and he rests in Ribecourt Road Cemetery, Trescault. |
| D Glenn | Daniel Patrick Glenn was the son of Patrick and Mary Ann. He was born in Egton Bridge and enlisted in Whitby. Daniel joined the West Yorkshire Regt., and became L/Cpl 15763 and died on 31 March 1918 and rests in the churchyard in St Hilda's, Egton. After the war his parents moved to Bradford. |

| T Hodgman | Thomas was the son of Thomas and Ann Hodgman who in 1901 lived at Albion Place, Ruswarp. Thomas snr worked on his own account as a baker and confectioner, living with his 4 children and mother in law Susannah Walton. THomas enlisted in Whitley, giving that as his birth place but living in Grosmont, with his wife Jane. Thomas joined the Lincolnshire Regt., as Pte 41805, serving at Gallipoli and Egypt before being KIA in France on 21 March 1918 aged 25. He is remembered on the Arras Memorial with many others who have no known grave. |
| J Jefferson | Possibly, James Jefferson who was, according to sources born in Glacedale and enlisted in Scarborough into the Yorkshire Regt., as Pte 10067. He was KIA on 10 March 1915 and is remembered on Le Touret Memorial |
| J Moore | James Leo Moore, or Lea as he was found in the 1901 census was born in 1889, the son fo Matthew and Elizabeth. In 1901 the family lived at Egton Bridge where Matthew worked as a carter on an estate. James enlisted in Whitby into the Yorkshire Regt., and became Pte 12365. He died of wounds on 24 November 1917 and he is remembered on the Cambrai Memorial, Louverval. |
| W Pearson | William Pearson was born in Whitby, the son of William and Margaret in 1893. There are 2 William's with parents William and Margaret, both within the area. One William is a manufacturer and the other is a farmer - as the CWGC states that William and Margaret were of Red House Farm, I have taken the parents as those who in 1901 were living at Hangton Hill, Glaisdale where William was a farmer. William enlisted into the RFA and became A/Bdr 37817. He was KIA on 18 August 1916 and rests in Dantzig Alley British Cemetery, Mametz |
| F Walker | Possibly, Fred Walker who in 1901 was living with his widowed mother, Mary in Egton village. He enlisted in Whitby, joining the FRA as Driver 50574. He was KIA on 25 March 1918 and is remembered on the Pozieres Memorial |
| J Walker | Fred, above had an elder brother John and this could be him. He was born in Egton and enlisted in Hinderwell to the Yorkshire Regt., as 28681. He was transferred to the DLI and became Pte 250694. John was KIA on 5 November 1916 and is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial |
